Mario is typically the main character in stories and games of the series named after him. In Everclear Night, however, his role appears to be background at best. According to gS, there are no plans in the slightest for Mario to be a main party member.. So far he hasn't even made an appearance in the adventure at all, except to serve as an example of an exemplary mixture to aspiring Soul-Smiths.

Mario's soul consists of (from bottom to top) Aegis, Flow and Mend, with a star-shaped Soul Capsule of pure Shine at his core. It most likely took an extremely skilled Soul-Smith (and the highest-quality Humors) to create Mario's highly unusual, but undoubtedly heroic personality.
